I
am working on the density functional based first-principles investigation of
the electronic and magnetic properties of surface and interfaces. I am
interested particularly in epitaxially grown magnetic and nonmagnetic overlayer
on suitable substrates. Metal overlayer on semiconductor substrate is very
special in this context because of some interesting interface induced
properties such as formation of barrier height, evolution of gap states etc. as
they are electronically two different materials. My research interest covers
first-principles estimation of the structural, electronic, and magnetic and
transport properties of quantum structures supported on technologically
important substrates.
